Gwambygene – Southern Cross 175 miles

Two nights ago there was a savage storm. V windy and sideways rain all night so didn’t manage to get off until 11. Started off on dirt roads then hit the tarmac and made good progress but the pretty wet for the last ten miles and I broke my flag pole 😦

Packed away wet tents in the morning and put my new nut sack on the bars, Jack loved it and plans to do the same. We saw Australia’s smallest bank in Shackleton, it’s literally a shed. Had a windy ride to Meridian and camped in some bushes on the other side of town.

We are getting through industrial quantities of vaseline.

Had the wind behind us today and smashed 50 miles before lunch. Will hopefully end up at Mount Palmer.
