Wee Jasper – Canberra 57 miles

Great spot to wake up in. The views of the valley were amazing and blasted the sound of music soundtrack as we had breakfast. Was a bit of a chilly night and the tent turned into a literal ice cube.

Day started off sunny and the fog came in as we climbed. Had a squeaky bum moment when one of my pannier clips broke and the pannier fell off in front of Jacks wheel as we were sending it down a hill.

My wildlife photography is consistently awful but here’s a gaggle of kangaroos and some sheep.

Planned to have a rest day in Canberra tomorrow, but it turns out to be one of the most expensive places under he sun. So instead we’re camping in a park in the edge of the city and will explore tomorrow.

21/7

All the frost this morning, everything froze including the bikes. Luckily we’re mooching around Canberra so not in a huge rush and can let things defrost. Cooked breakfast on the fire and then ditched our stuff in a nice blokes garage for the day.

Canberra was alright, hit a shopping centre, a library, a couple of museums/galleries and I picked up a replacement kindle from Facebook marketplace. Ended up camping in the same place as last night.

  1. Love your frozen tents and bikes. Something we don’t associate with Australia. Also your wildlife snaps of the “gaggle of kangaroos and some sheep” been so great to read your blog and see the photos and drone footage. So well done lads but it will be good to have you home. Safe journey back.
