Mitta Mitta – Wee Jasper 210 miles

16/7

Set off into thick fog and unfortunately couldn’t find a coffee at our morning stop. Luckily we had a cake and ate it in an information booth.

It was a day of rolling hills, the biggest took about 40 mins to go up and less than 10 to go back down.

In the afternoon the weather cleared up and we had some great views. Made our campsite by the New South Wales boarder.

17/7

It was a warm night! Crossed the boarder and spent the morning cruising through v nice valleys.

Then a steep one up to Tumbarumba. Found a campsite that looks like a low security prison and got a room, avoiding a very wet evening.

Left the weirdness of Tumbarumba and headed to Tumut. Pretty short day and uneventful day of riding, finished earlier than normal.

Found good riverside campsite and hit the town. Also realised that we’re actually super close to Sydney and could be there in a few days which is actually quite sad.

Also, I was crawling into my tent and knelt on my kindle, killing it..

Good riding today. Left Tumut and headed to Wee Jasper. Had about 60k of dirt roads in varying condition. Though tough there’s been a lot of climbing it’s been a jokes day.

The cake fell off my bike and was generally causing me grief so jack very kindly took it, preventing me launching it off the mountain. Then next highlight was passing Yass.

Ate half of the cake at our morning stop and aside from a puncture stop the route did us well.

Got to Bee Jasper and found a camping spot on top of a hill overlooking the valley. The view is insane and there’s sheep and kangaroos bobbing about.
