Norseman – Caiguna 291 miles

All sorts have been going on since Norseman. We saw our first camel and he was not only alive but super friendly. His name was squitzy and he lived on a farm so not entirely wild but I’m counting it. There were also a couple of kangaroos hopping about.

The beginning of the Nullabor was epic, we had two days of cycling through forest with clear skies and a strong tail wind.

The drone has been up a couple of times and the expanse of scrubby forest to the horizon is nuts.

The first roadhouse, Balladonia, was weird. A Space ship once crashed in the area and they have all the space stash. T-shirts, hoodies and even a museum/one room dedicated to it, but the weirdest part was that the girl serving us in this random space petrol station, hundreds of miles from any town or civilisation was from Essex.

Last nights camp was seriously cold. Our breakfast bananas froze and the honey was like concrete.

We just finished the longest straight road in aus, it’s about 90 miles and is super boring. It’s completely flat but there’s not much in the way of scenery or roadkill so not exciting.

The only sight on the road is the Caiguna blowhole which was massively underwhelming. Staying before the bend and hopefully tomorrow will be more interesting..

On a sad note we forgot to buy oats in Norseman and won’t be able to get any for another week or so, so it’s cold breakfasts for the foreseeable future 😦
